Who will offer CashBack for Digital Transactions at Sufal Bangla?
Sufal Bangla is a unique initiative by
Department of Agricultural Marketing, Government of West Bengal which aims to
provide an easy interface between producers and consumers and benefit both the
farmers and consumers.
The consumers are serviced through a
mix of mobile and static stalls. The mobile stalls move within their dedicated
routes to enable the consumers to purchase fresh daily essentials at reasonable
prices.
West Bengal Government rolled out the
Sufal Bangla scheme in 2014 with the primary focus on mobile stalls. The
project kick started out with 14 mobile stalls. Over the years, the number has
gone up and now there are 100 Plus stalls.
Kolkata itself has 72 stalls, with the
remaining 32 spread across various districts.
Sufal Bangla stalls are slowly becoming
the defacto choice of in big housing complexes. The RWAs of big housing
complexes are lobbying for Sufal Bangla stalls in their complexes.
This is a win-win for both the Sufal
Bangla stall franchisee and the residents of the housing complexes. The franchisee
is assured of minimum footfalls and the residents are assured of fresh products
at reasonable rates.
Currently
there are 39 Sufal Bangla stalls in housing complexes, 21 of which are in
Rajarhat - the IT hub of Bengal.
The
Sufal Bangla stalls are managed by farmers' producers' companies (FPCs). The
FPCs bid for the stalls through an open tendering process.
The daily procurement prices and the
consumer prices are updated on the Sufal Bangla website. Difficult to believe,
