Cyber Defence for Banks @ IDRBT Workshop

workshop on “Cyber Defence for Banks”.
IT Assets include Hardware as
well as software. In short, all modern communication devices necessary to make
banking safe for Bank's customers.
The Cyber Security Team of the
Bank has many responsibilities for safe-guarding Bank’s IT Assets. The Cyber
Security Team is also tasked with running programs amongst Staff and Customers
on Cyber Defence tools.
Customer’s bank accounts are
accessible via many channels i.e Branch, Net Banking, Mobile Banking, Credit
Cards, Debit Cards, NACH-Debit, UPI, AEPS etc. Bank Cyber Security Teams hence
have to always be ready with many strategies to thwart cyber crooks.
The hottest sector for cyber
criminals is financial institutions and cybercriminals are way ahead in the
latest cyber-attack technologies.
Thus, there is an urgent for the
Bank’s Cyber Security team to be part of a vibrant networking chain.
The cyber crooks can target bank
infrastructure including SWIFT infrastructure. DDoS is a dreaded scenario for
Banks. At the same time, banks customers too are targeted via phishing/vishing
scams or exploiting vulnerabilities of the devices that customers are using.
Keeping this aim in mind, IDBRT
has designed a 5-day workshop titled “Cyber Defence for Banks” at its main
Hyderabad campus.
The workshop will start on 6th
January 2020 and end on 10th January 2020.

The primary aim of this program
is to enlighten the participants with the knowledge of the cyber defense. In
turn, it will help banks to strengthen their cybersecurity posture.
The five-day program aims to
cover several aspects of cybersecurity and cyber forensics.
A little bit of knowledge of
relevant clauses of IT Acts also help participants to understand their position
in the techno-legal scenario that arises due to cyber-attacks.
The program will strengthen the
participants in cybersecurity. They will be able to deploy appropriate
technologies and strategies to counter cyber threats.
