Facebook India Fundraiser – Please enable UPI as a Donation channel
In the first
week of 2017, Facebook launched its fundraising module. The module is targeted
towards Facebook users in need of funds for personal needs like tuition,
medical care, pet care, or other personal expenses.
This module is
the offshoot of Facebook charitable tools. Facebook users at the same time also
can also solicit funds for crisis relief such as public crises or natural
disasters, personal emergencies such as a house fire, theft or car accident etc.
Facebook
charitable tools also assist Non-Profit Organisations to raise funds for further
deployment. The major difference between Personal Fund raising and Non-Profit
Organization funding is that under ‘Non-Profit Organisation fund raising’, the
donations always go to an eligible organization.
All charities
or non-profit organizations are not eligible to avail Facebook charity tools.
The first criteria
is that the non-profit organization should be in a country where Facebook non-profit
fundraisers are available. As on date, Facebook non-profit fundraisers are available
in 43 countries across the world.
Once the first obstacle, the non-profit organization has to follow the Facebook non-profit
fundraising rules for the specific country.
Facebook
webpage broadly categorizes the 43 countries into 3 groups:
Group 01) Requirements for non-profit organizations based in
United States
Group 02) Requirements for non-profit organizations based in
India
Group 03) Requirements for non-profit organizations based in
other countries.
Please note India is honored with a separate sub-section and
is not grouped with ‘other countries.
To qualify for Facebook's fundraising tools, charities in
India must be registered with GiveIndia's GiveAssured program. Also, the
charities need to provide a set of documents as mentioned in the respective
Facebook webpage.

The Facebook Fundraisers for India was formally launched today
i.e 20/04/2020.
I have created a test fundraising page, to see the various payment
options.
UPI is not a payment option, VERY
DISAPPOINTED. Did not expect this, was looking forward to UPI as a Payment
Option.
Disclaimer: These are my personal view only, the bottom line
is, Safe ePayments
