However, BBPS is
not yet a payment option for Netflix subscribers.
There is a huge market for
one-off shows in our country. Short-term i.e 72 hours, 108 hours etc rather
than only monthly subscription plans.
Of course, monthly
subscription plans are good for the company to collect monies without much
effort.
But, short-term plans can
do wonders for Netflix
and BBPS can be the preferred payment channel for
Netflix short term customers.
But, Netflix has a huge library of Shows and short term
plans will attract more number of viewers. Viewers who may convert into monthly
subscribers and who may consume only short term subscription plans.
Either way, Netflix is the winner.
Yes, slight tweaking of Netflix billing plans is required, but this is not
very difficult to achieve.
And, India’s own Billing Platform
i.e BBPS (Bharat Bill Payment System) can enable Netflix
to quickly set up multiple billing plans.
No need to depend on
subscribers who need bank accounts.
No need to depend on
subscribers whose bank accounts i.e credit cards or debit cards support subscription
plans.
No need to depend on multiple
payment gateway providers
