This article caught my attention

BBMP Marshals in Bengaluru are being provided with POS
Machines to collect the Not Wearing Mask fine via digital modes.
This was necessary as the main excuse for not able to pay
the fine on the spot, “Holding only cards, No cash”
As the numbers of folks coming up with the above excuse was
increasing day by day, BBMP officials had no choice but to provide POS Machines
to BBMP Marshals and other personnel to collect the imposed fine on the spot.
The above scenario is common across India. Nowadays, many
local municipal authorities are levying fines for Not Wearing Mask.
Railways too have started to levy fines on passengers not wearing
masks. Read this article @ https://www.businesstoday.in/latest/trends/indian-railways-to-impose-rs-500-fine-for-not-wearing-masks-on-trains-railway-premises/story/436878.html
As more and more local municipal authorities and other
public utility companies may impose fine till Covid19 recedes, BharatQR should be the default fine payment
mode.
Bharat QR is a new transformative way to pay with one’s
mobile phone. There’s no need to carry cash.
Secure – Bharat QR is as
secure as making a payment via UPI. Your card details are not exposed to any
third party.
Interoperable – One can use any of
the apps that support BharatQR and pay using Cards (via Visa, MasterCard, Amex
or RuPay) or BHIM-UPI
No additional charges –
There is no additional charge applied to customer for making payments via
Bharat QR
Is it difficult to implement BharatQR as the default payment mode? Ideally no, as majority of Banks and Fintech
Aggregators have superb BharatQR solutions.
The only drawback with a pure BharatQR display card, is that folks may tell
there is no enough mobile currency to connect to internet.
No room for corruption All
digital payments are made through a POS machine is connected to an HDFC account
in BBMP’s name.
The bill generated is
connected with the name and contact of the person penalised. Tickets are handed
over even when cash is cash is paid.
The same system of billing
is followed. All tickets are numbered, to ensure that all cash payments are
deposited in the bank.
Hopefully, HDFC Bank has
offered "SmartHub DiGiPOS" solution to BBMP and the not routine POS
terminals.
HDFC Bank has a Payment
Smart Hub and the various offerings under SmartHub Solutions are POS, mPOS-
Mobile Card Swipe Machine POS, Wireless Card Swipe Machine (GPRS), DiGiPOS,
PayZapp, QR code-based payments, UPI, Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking,
etc.
