Bengaluru’s Lalbagh August 2020 Flower Show cancelled

The August 2020 edition of Bengaluru’s famed Bi-Annual Flower Show at Lalbagh stands cancelled. Hence, Digital Payments will not get an opportunity to showcase their potential in Bengaluru this Independence Day.

The flower show was first organised in 1912 and since then it was taking place every year, except once during World War II.

In wake of COVID-19 outbreak and a surge in positive cases in Karnataka, the organisers of the Independence Day flower show have decided to cancel the show in Bengaluru.

The event was scheduled to start from August 9 at the Lalbagh Botanical garden in the city.

The preparations for the next edition start as soon as the existing edition winds up. This means the preparation for the August 2020, start off by mid-March 2020.

The first step is to decide the Edition’s theme and based on the theme tenders are invited for the actual work.

This year due to Covid19 pandemic the exercise could not kick-off as scheduled. Hence, a decision was taken to cancel the August 2020 edition.

A lot of work is done in the background to ensure visitors have a gala time at the flower show. This work requires time for the grand finale.

The August 2020 edition would have been the flower show’s 212th edition.
