11 Motivators to be part of TCS World 10k Bangalore Marathon


          The inspiration for today’s Blog Post is the preparations at Sree Kanteerava Stadium for TCS 2015 10k.

Q: What is a marathon?
Ans: The marathon is a long-distance running event with an official distance of 42.195 kilometres (26 miles and 385 yards), usually run as a road race.
Marathon history in 140 characters

The marathon one of the original modern Olympic events  instituted in commemoration of the fabled run of the Greek soldier Pheidippides.

Event Organisers:  Procam International, a sport and leisure management firm which is also responsible for the Mumbai Marathon and Delhi Half Marathon.

Ans:  The combined enthusiasm of the ever increasing participants.

Q: What can you do to encourage TCS 2015 10K participants?

03) Cheer the participants by displaying the placards
04) Assist the support staff to keep the running areas clean
05) Assist the support staff to ensure that the runners take adequate rest as and when required

Ans: Yes every drop of water counts. The whole atmosphere is blessed with positive energy which radiates across the city.

The race certified by AIMS-certified begins and ends at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, after looping through the roads of Bangalore.

Race categories at the event are –
a)     World 10K (participation restricted to International and National athletes),
b)    Open 10K (participation open to amateur runners),
c)     Majja Run (a 5.7 Km run meant for fun runners),
d)    Senior Citizens’ Run (a 4.2 Km run for Senior Citizens,
e)    Champions with Disability event (a 4.2 Km event for persons with disability).
f)     In addition to this there also is a 10 Km Corporate Champions category in which companies can field a team of 3 members and compete to achieve the best aggregate time.
