Festival: Jumati-ul-Vida. 01-Jul-16. Friday
Brief Description: Jamat-ul-Vida
is a special and holy festival falls every year a day before the end of Ramzan
month. At this day Muslim people perform special prayer (in addition to their
regular Friday prayers) by reciting their Holy Quran for whole day.

Festival: Guru Hargovind Ji's Birthday. 05-Jul-16. Tuesday
Brief Description: Guru
Hargobind Sahib also Saccha Padshah (born 5 July 1595–died 19 March 1644.
According to another tradition, he was born on 5th of July 1595. He was the
sixth of the of the Ten Sikh Gurus and became Guru on 25 May 1606 following in
the footsteps of his father Guru Arjan Dev ( Fifth guru of sikh ). He was not,
perhaps, more than eleven at his father's execution. Before ascension, he
nominated Guru Har Rai, his grandson as the next Guru of the Sikhs.

Brief Description: KHARCHI
FESTIVAL : SYMBOL OF TRIPURA’S CULTURAL HERITAGE
'Kharchi’ or ‘Khmarchi’ festival is typical
of Tripura. It is a celebration for worship of the tutelary deity of the royal
family of Tripura. Once prevalent only in the royal family, the worship of the
Fourteen Gods has now turned into a festival of the general public irrespective
of caste or creed of Tripura's inhabitants. In Rajmala - the annals of the
kings of Tripura - there are many unreal and imaginary stories about the origin
of the Fourteen Gods, though there is no historical basis for these stories.

Day. 13-Jul-16. Wednesday
Brief Description: Martyrs' Day
is observed in Kashmir in remembrance of the people killed on 13 July 1931 by
the state forces. On the day Kashmiris were agitating outside the jail
premises, at Srinagar, where Abdul Qadeer was tried on the charge of terrorism
and inciting public against the Maharaja of Kashmir.
State: Jammu & Kashmir
Festival: Ker Puja.
26-Jul-16. Tuesday
Brief Description: Ker Puja is held after a
fortnight of Kharchi Puja and is a traditional tribal festival. The deity of
Vastu Devata is Ker meaning boundary or a particular area. People believe that
the former rulers in the past used to perform this Puja for the general welfare
and well being of the people of the state.
