Dhule goes live on CTS-Western Grid



          Dhule situated in Maharashtra is witnessing rapid growth and one of the long pending demands of traders is the integration of its  Cheque clearing channel to the Western Grid CTS channel.

          This dream recently came true with the CTS going live in Dhule in September 2018.

          This will boost Safe Digital Transactions amongst the business community and reduce cash-based transactions.

Dhule is one of the major cities in India situated on the banks of Panzara River. It is a municipal corporation in Dhule District in the northwestern part of Maharashtra state, India known as Khandesh.

The town planning of this city was done by Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.

Recently Ministry of Surface Transport has granted conversion of surrounding 4 state highways to National Highway, after which Dhule would be the one amongst very few cities in India being located on convergence of 7 National Highways.

Dhule city is also a part of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project, as Node - 17, India's most ambitious infrastructure program, aiming to develop new industrial cities and converging next generation technologies across infrastructure sectors.

This district is situated at the foot of the Satpuda hill.

The mountain range of Sahyadri  are on the western side of this district. Tapi, Panzara, Kan, Arunavati, Amravati, Aner, Evil and Sandy rivers flow through the district.

Major crops are cotton, bajra, jowar, groundnut, maize, soyabean in Dhule district. Paddy is grown on the west side of Sakri taluka in the district. During the rabi season, wheat and gram are harvested. Besides, cash crops like cane, banana, chilli and cotton are being harvested.

The major tourist spots in Dhule are Laling, Songir, Tal. Dhule, Bhameer, Tal. Sakri, There are historic forts in the hills and Bhuikot at Thalner  Tal. Shirpur.

At  Laling fort, there is a waterfall in Laling Kuran, which is a favourite spot of tourists during at rainy season.

The Alaladari waterfalls is another famous tourists spot at Amali area of Sakri taluka.

The  V. S. Rajwade museum is also worth a visit.

The historian, Ram Sharan Sharma says: "With his unadulterated passion for research, V.K.Rajwade went from village to village in Maharashtra in search of Sanskrit manuscripts and sources of Maratha history; which were published in twenty-two volumes."


Shri Vishvanath Kashinath Rajwade was the great historian who made huge collection of Manuscripts numbering about manuscripts numbering about 3500 and historical documents. Rajwade Sanshodhan Mandal was established in 1927 to form fire proof museum which came into existence in 1932.

The building of the Mandal was inaugurated by Her Excellency Indira Bai Holkar of Indore.

The museum has weaponry, artefacts, coins, copper plates, swords, guns, metal sculpture, manuscripts and numismatic collection.
Another attraction in Dhule is the temple of Shri Vagdevata. Here the material of Samarth Ramdas Swami has been preserved.
Aner Dam Sanctuary Area, Nageshwar, Tal. Shirpur campus is also being developed as a tourist destination.
There is Aner sanctuary near the dam on the river Aner in Shirpur taluka.  The Aner sanctuary in the area of 83 Sq.Km. In this sanctuary, birds, folks, sheep, wolf, bears, wild boars, rabbits, pheres, quails, vultures, woodpeckers, pineapples, mynas, horns, Hornbills, pannikbadi, and herbs etc. are found in this sanctuary.
