BBPS spreading its wings with new Billers queued up




          The success of BBPS is attracting new billers to its fold. Utility companies across the country are racing to onboard BBPS. The safe payment options for customers are driving up the volumes. The growing volumes, in turn, are attracting new billers.

          ‘Loan Repayments’ is a new biller category added to BBPS.

          BBPS Volumes for the Financial Year 2019-20 are as under:


          FASTag and Loan Repayments are the new entrants. These new entrants should reflect in the increased volumes in the coming months.

          NPCI has running awareness campaigns to popularise BBPS. The addition of new billers to the BBPS platform is leading to a multiplier effect on the whole ecosystem.

          The more customers pay their bills via BBPS, the more billers will be encouraged to onboard BBPS.

 The existing biller categories are:-

03)                Gas Supply
04)                Telephone
05)                DTH Recharge
06)                Insurance
07)                FASTag
08)                LPG Gas
09)                Broadband

02)                Direct Debit to Bank Account
03)                Credit Card
04)                Wallets
05)                Prepaid Cards
06)                IMPS

Bills on BBPS can be paid through: -

·         Agent
·         ATM
·         Internet
·         Bank Branch
·         Mobile Banking
·         Business Correspondents

In the next couple of months, a number of billers in the following categories go Live:

Water – 173 new billers

Gas – 10 new billers

Electricity – 3 new billers

MSO – 26 new billers

ISO – 88 new billers
